Interior Designer — Part-Time (Contract / 1099)

Auto Import

About ROI ByDesign

ROI ByDesign is a nationwide multifamily design firm that operates at the intersection of design, operations, and asset performance. We don't just make spaces look good — we make them perform. Our work is built to drive rent growth, accelerate lease-up, and increase property value for owners and operators across the country.

Since 2019, we've partnered on 300+ multifamily projects nationally — from $2MM to $60MM+ assets — delivering turnkey design solutions across value-add renovations, repositioning strategies, and new development.

Our tagline says it best: Proven Returns. Elevated Design.

The role

We're looking for a resourceful, detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our growing remote team on a part-time basis (~20 hours/week).

You'll report directly to the COO/Director of Design & Development and CEO, working across active projects that span clubhouse and amenity design, unit finish packages, FF&E coordination, and branding. This is a fully remote, 1099 engagement.

The right person is equal parts creative and operational — someone who cares about how a space performs, not just how it photographs.

We're looking for someone who can own a project from first concept through final installation — comfortable leading, making decisions, and driving work forward without waiting to be directed.

What you'll do

  • Support all phases of design from concept through completion — clubhouse/amenity spaces, unit finish packages, exterior upgrades, and branding
  • Produce conceptual and final design presentations, including property signage and repositioning packages
  • Draft floor plans and elevations; develop FF&E schedules and budget documentation
  • Conduct product and material research; coordinate procurement of samples
  • Prepare and manage specifications, proposals, and purchase orders
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors in a clear, professional manner
  • Maintain detailed project notes, task lists, and tracking across multiple active projects
  • Participate in virtual site visits and support FF&E implementation as needed
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited program
  • 1–2+ years of interior design experience (commercial or multifamily preferred)
  • Exceptional 2D rendering skills, particularly in Photoshop
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator
  • Familiarity with Studio Designer is a plus, but not required
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing accuracy
  • Strong communicator — confident working with clients, vendors, and internal team members
  • Operator-minded: you think about durability, installation efficiency, and long-term performance — not just aesthetics
Compensation
  • $25.00/hour · approximately 20 hours per week
  • Contract / 1099 engagement
